Ecoliv, led by Founder and Director Ashley Beaumont, envisioned a shift in the paradigm of residential design. Driven by a commitment to sustainable building principles, this particular EcoHut project aimed to seamlessly incorporate modern luxury with environmental consciousness. The integration of EcoSmart Fire's Flex 32BY played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life.
The intention was clear: to seamlessly weave the Flex 32BY into the fabric of this specific EcoHut, enriching the living experience with sustainable warmth and elegance. The goal transcends functionality, aiming to become a design element that aligns with both brands' commitment to eco-conscious living.
Details Unveiled
Designed for living harmoniously with the natural Australian environment, the EcoHut range, like all Ecoliv homes, embodies a commitment to sustainability.
At the core of Ecoliv's resource-efficient ethos is a dedication to passive solar design. By strategically orienting each home to leverage natural sunlight and shade, the EcoHut embraces passive solar principles, ensuring a comfortable temperature year-round without relying on costly heating and cooling systems.
Central to this commitment are features that extend beyond aesthetics, encompassing practical elements to reduce environmental impact. Ecoliv homes, including the EcoHut, incorporate energy-efficient LED downlights, consuming 85 percent less energy than traditional lighting. This, coupled with double-glazed windows and sliding doors featuring a five-star Window Energy Rating System (WERS) glass, minimises energy consumption and associated bills.
Adding to this symphony of sustainability, the Flex 32BY indoor fireplace becomes an ambient partner in the narrative, providing both warmth and elegance. The Flex Series embodies energy efficiency, aligning with Ecoliv's focus on reducing carbon footprints. Its ethanol burner offers a clean, sustainable heat source, creating an ambiance that complements the EcoHut's commitment to eco-conscious living.
Waste reduction is also a cornerstone of Ecoliv's construction philosophy. From maximising the use of 900mm building materials to prefabricating frames and trusses, the aim is to minimise wastage by up to 52 percent. Emphasising the importance of recycling excess building materials, Ecoliv's onsite-builds at their construction facility generate less waste overall, contributing to a more sustainable construction industry.
The compact design and use of eco-friendly bioethanol in the Flex 32BY mirrors Ecoliv's approach of minimising wasted space and resources. Our e-NRG bioethanol is produced from renewable resources, such as plants, where the entire plant or by-products can be used for fuel production. This helps in reducing agricultural waste by utilising parts of crops that might otherwise be discarded or left in the fields. As such, bioethanol contributes to reducing agricultural waste and helps to support more sustainable practices.
The EcoHut retreat, with its meticulous blend of sustainable design, energy efficiency, and elegance, echoes the collective ethos of Ecoliv and EcoSmart Fire. It's more than a dwelling; it's an invitation to live in harmony with nature, a collaboration of brands united by a shared commitment to crafting homes that resonate with the values of environmental responsibility and modern luxury.
