Bioethanol can be wiped up with either a paper or cloth towel. Paper towels can be disposed of in regular trash bins. Though not toxic, it is recommended that you wash hands immediately after coming into contact with e-NRG.
Why is it sustainable?
During combustion, the emissions from bioethanol produce heat, steam and a small amount of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is then absorbed by plants and processed by photosynthesis to help the plant grow. This process makes bioethanol a carbon-neutral fuel source.
Can other ethanol brands be used in place of e-NRG?
e-NRG is the only bioethanol fuel recommended for your ethanol fireplace. e-NRG has been produced for the lowest odor, most vibrant flame, and longest burn time on the market. The e-NRG fuel packaging, operational procedure, accessories and formula has undergone rigorous third party testing with all EcoSmart Fire ethanol fireplaces. We have not worked with or tested other bioethanol fuel brands in conjunction with our burners and cannot speak to their performance or safety. Other bioethanol fuel brands can also leave residue or unsightly staining. Use of any other ethanol fuel may damage your unit and void your warranty. Bioethanol, a renewable energy, is the cleanest and most efficient fuel on the market, which means there are no emissions and no soot or ash to clean up.
Does e-NRG bioethanol smell?
Bioethanol has substances added to it in order for it to be labelled ‘de-natured’. The burning of these substances may cause a slight smell upon initial lighting and will dissipate with time. There is also a slight odour once the flame is extinguished – similar to when you blow out a candle. This also dissipates into the air.
Are bioethanol fireplaces refilled?
EcoSmart Fires are easily filled with a proprietary safety jerry can, which features a special dispensing nozzle designed to use in dedicated filling points, which means it’s clean, safe and fast to refill and re-light to enjoy.
How much is bioethanol these days?
Based on calculations we've done in the USA, burning bioethanol is 35% cheaper than burning propane. The cost to burn bioethanol is a little more expensive than gas BUT that's only a talking point after you recover the significantly higher costs to install gas. Installing a bioethanol fire is significantly cheaper.
