Before you begin, confirm you are using e-NRG bioethanol. This process is designed for EcoSmart burners using e-NRG fuel. If you are using a different fuel, do not proceed, switch to e-NRG first and contact us if you need guidance.
Step 1: Empty the burner
Remove the fuel from the reservoir completely. Ethanol can be safely disposed of down the drain - similar to household alcohol such as vodka - followed by plenty of water to flush the drain. Do not attempt to burn the contaminated fuel.
Step 2: Clean the burner
Once empty, clean the reservoir to remove any remaining residue. Your EcoSmart burner is dishwasher safe, so you can run it through a standard dishwasher cycle. If you prefer to hand-wash, use warm water and mild dish soap, then rinse thoroughly.
Step 3: Dry the burner fully
This is the most important step. Any moisture left in the reservoir will dilute the new fuel and prevent ignition again. Allow the burner to dry fully before moving on, do not rush this step.
Step 4: Refuel and light as normal
Once the burner is fully dry, refill with fresh e-NRG bioethanol to the maximum fill line, never above it. Light as normal. The burner should now ignite and perform correctly.
If you have followed all four steps and the burner still does not light, please get in touch with our support team.
